Truly Brilliant PR Idea

I have been keeping a close eye on the sorts of stories that Denver, CO and Boston, MA do on the pending World Series. All of the stations in these markets are clamoring for baseball-related stories to fill their newscasts with.

The Boston Globe had one little ditty that is going to pay big dividends for JetBlue if any stations in either market pick up on it:
At 2 p.m. yesterday, JetBlue Airways added another 100-passenger nonstop flight from Boston to Denver for Friday night, offering every seat at $399, the highest price the carrier charges for last-minute tickets. That route's regular Friday night nonstop flight sold out Sunday night as World Series spectators snatched the last of the seats. The carrier will keep a close eye on demand and consider flying more planes out of Logan Airport to accommodate a spike in demand from Sox fans, said spokesman Sebastian White.
Here is why this is a potential jackpot for TV news stations: This airline flight was essentially created to do nothing else but transport Red Sox fans. You can put a camera in the public area at the Jet Blue terminal before the flight and talk to literally DOZENS of people who are headed to Denver... either with Red Sox tickets or going just for the sake of being close to the action. Guaranteed Red Sox fans.

And the Denver station can wait at Denver International Airport for that flight to come in and have a guaranteed shot at talking to arriving Red Sox fans.

I am sure the same thing could happen in reverse (Rockies fans coming to Boston).
